The Research and Development division of SLRM since its inception always strive for technological excellence in process optimization, new product and process development related to Ironmaking, Steelmaking and Steel processing. Our focus is to be competitive through improvements in product quality, productivity and costs.
The key objectives of the division are :
- Process optimization/improvement through continuous assessment of process data pertaining to ironmaking, steelmaking and hot rolling.
- To develop and adopt new technologies to reduce carbon foot print and bring down environmental pollution.
- To develop new steel grades with unique properties that can aid in bringing down carbon foot print and reduce environmental pollution.
- To provide solutions to present and future customer demands.
- To aid in developing technical expertise of team members of different divisions of the plant and strengthen the organization by building knowledge base.
- To carry out collaborative research work with technical universities and industrial partners.
- Identification of process and product failure root cause and recommendation of corrective measures.
