Safety is a core value that guides our daily actions to build a safe work environment. At SLR Metaliks, Health and Safety are of great importance. Hence, we have adopted a policy in which people’s lives and well-being take priority over all other objectives.
SLRM has also working towards to achieve “zero harm” through implementation of various processes viz., Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, HAZOP study, SOP for every activity incorporating goals of safety, quality and environment, Trainings, Motivations, Awards & Rewards, competitions, campaigns, Incident investigation, CAPA etc.
Safety KPIs : SLR Metaliks records & investigates all First Aid Incidents, Near Misses, Property Damage, Without Lost Time Accidents, With Lost Time accidents as a several Proactive steps to prevent incidents. It can be evident that, significant improvements are seen in LTI accidents by following the best practices over the years. Frequency Severity Index (FSI) shows below the bench marking for the steel plant.
Safety Critical Risk Activity (CRA’s) : Since, SLR Metaliks is operating steel plant having hazardous processes, it is very much important to identify critical risk activities (CRA’s) to identify and prevent possible risk of occurrence of incidents. CRA’s like, Work At height, Hot work, Excavation, Confined space entry, LOTO, Working at toxic Gases.
SLRM has structured training mechanism to cover every employee for the trainings. Competency and skill matrix, Training Need assessment & identification are, Training feedbacks are in place to strengthen the training process.
Resources like, training halls, projectors, Audio & Video based training modules are available. Internal external trainers are engaged to improve the awareness, competency & skills of the workers in respect of safety, health & environment. Job specific training, induction training, OJTs, Class room trainings, hand holdings etc, are being conducted to improve the safety culture of the organisation.
